Grey's Anatomy Season3

The third season of the Grey's Anatomy  was premiered on September 21, 2006. This season of the series had twenty five episodes in it. The season opens with Izzie suffering the tragic loss of her fiancé, Denny. All the doctors at Seattle Grace help her come out of that shock and tell her not to quit the internship program. Meredith is getting close to Derek but before she takes any bold step regarding the same she must decide what things will be like for her if this thing comes out. Chief spends a night at the hospital, but now he will have to face his wife. On the other hand, George takes relationship advice from Derek regarding Callie.

Cristina gets to meet Burke’s parents, but in a position she never thought she would. Bailey gets really hard on his interns. Izzie, in order to get out of her distress, begins baking. Addison, in order to get some relief from her hospital duties, gets drunk to the fullest. Richard finds out that Callie is living in the hospital. There’s a patient at Seattle Grace who’s this present day could be the last day of his life, so he decides to live his life to the fullest. In the next episode of the series, Cristina helps Preston with his hand tremor. Izzie decides to return to the hospital, after the death of his fiancée. George and Callie take their relationship to the next level. Alex has to deal with a patient who believes that she is a super hero, but has a long history of injuries. New responsibilities are thrown at Addison, which makes her doubt her abilities as a doctor. Izzie receives an envelope in which she finds a check from Denny Jr. to Izzie for $8.7 million. Bailey then gets a patient who is suffering from breast cancer. Derek gets to know about Mark and Addison’s relationship and Derek and Addison decide to divorce each other, because even Derek was involved with someone else. Meredith and Addison have to treat patients who are rather in an awkward position and want to get rid of each other as soon as possible.

Cristina then arranges a very complicated surgery called the “humpty dumpty” for Burke. When Meredith goes to see Derek, she finds out that there was a woman on his bed, but it later turns out that the woman was his sister. George and Addison have to work on a pregnant woman, whose premature delivery has come up with some strange problems for the doctors. After a strange incident at the hospital, Alex questions his ability as a doctor. Derek decides to go on a camping trip in order to get some peace, but somehow his entire plan is spoiled when most of the doctors from Seattle Grace join him on his so called pleasure trip. Addison and Callie, have to work on a pregnant lady whose baby is killed after she slips in the washroom. Cristina is banned from all surgeries because she will not speak up, why she erased her name off Burke’s “humpty-dumpty” surgery and Bailey wants the explanation at any cost. George’s father is admitted in the hospital and has a long list of illnesses that needs to be cured. Meredith decides to change her outlook towards life and starts looking at life from a positive point of view. Derek and Addison decide that they will not let animosity come in their relationship, despite whatever happens.

Richard tries to improve his relationship with his wife. A car accident takes place and all the victims of the accident are taken to the Seattle Grace. Cristina is not sure about her working relation with Derek as she is scared that the fact which she has been hiding from everyone about Burke will be exposed. In the next episode of the season, after some strange incidents take place at the hospital, Burke and Cristina’s relationship suffer a great length. Meredith’s half sister, Molly, is admitted at Seattle Grace for her delivery. Derek and Mark work as a team in order to save two close-knit brothers. The next episode of the season was divided into two parts. In the first part of the episode, George’s father undergoes a heart surgery and after that preparations are being made for his cancer surgery. Meredith’s father Thatcher Grey has been visiting Seattle Grace in order to see his granddaughter. On the other hand, Meredith gets in an uncomfortable position when she learns that Derek has not been able to get sound sleep because of her snoring. In the second part of the episode, Harold is put on life support system and George and his family has to take a very difficult decision about him. Meredith tries to give another chance to her relationship with her father and discovers that there a number of things that are common between them. A decision that Addison took in the past is bothering her. When Bailey finds out that Izzie paid for Heather’s surgery, Bailey asks her not to be a part of the surgery. George loses his father and in order to come out of grief he indulges in frequent sex with Callie, who after some time starts avoiding him.

 

The Chief at Seattle Grace announces that he will be retiring soon and that announcement made by him, brings people to think who will be his successor. Its Derek and Burke, who are being considered as the chief in line. Dr. Bailey is thinking of opening a free medical clinic and is very determined about it. Doctors at Seattle Grace are competing with each other in order to get themselves the position of the Chief. They all try to impress Richard. Meanwhile, there is a patient who has put the lives of the other patients around her in danger. On the other hand Meredith’s mother who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, experiences a change in her medical condition. The next episode of the season is divided into three parts. In the first part of the episode Cristina gets engaged to Burke, but she just can’t gather the strength to announce that to everyone else in the hospital. The interns are sent to work on site where an accident has taken place and that incident changes the lives of interns in many ways. In the next part of the episode, Meredith is still under water, just like the way she was in the first part of the episode and Derek thinks that she is trying to commit suicide and pulls her out of water. Izzie is left with no option but to drill holes into a trauma patient’s head, who is experiencing seizures. While the team is still on site,

George helps a patient find his lost son, though he is not sure if he will be successful in his that search. On the other hand, Alex takes this pregnant lady for surgery. In the third part of the episode, the interns at Seattle Grace are trying their level best to get Meredith out of her present state. Meanwhile, Meredith is in limbo where she meets up with Denny, Dylan and many other familiar deceased patients from the past. In order to get herself out of the shock of Meredith, Cristina chooses to shop. Alex continues to strengthen his bond with the pregnant lady Jane Doe, who remains unclaimed. On the other hand, Meredith’s mother, Ellis goes into cardiac arrest. A new member, Dr. Colin Marlow, is added to the race of being the new chief. Callie reveals in this episode that she is from a rich family and tension arises between George and Izzie. Meanwhile Alex is still busy with his patient, Jane Doe. George and Izzie have spent the night together, but George was totally drunk and does not remember anything about the night. Next day he meets Callie’s father, but the hangover is still there. On the other hand, Alex decides to give Jane Doe, a facial reconstruction surgery and gives her a new way of living. George finally confronts Izzie about the night. Interviews for the new chief have begun at the Seattle Grace. When it turns out that Izzie’s daughter is suffering leukemia, she is brought to hospital for treatment and Izzie will have to donate her bone marrow, in order to support her daughter. Meredith and Derek will have to face each other, in the race for the post of the new chief. Meanwhile, Meredith gets closer to her step mother. Marlow continues to bother Burke and Cristina with a surgery that has to take place in the near future and it is Burke who has to perform the surgery. Its examination time for the interns and they are busy cramming up stuff for their exams. Chairman of the hospital board is admitted to the hospital and he wants that the chief, himself should attend to him. Burke is very excited about his wedding with Cristina and asks her to be a part of the wedding arrangements while she is busy preparing for her exams. Derek on the other hand starts questioning his relationship with Meredith. The next episode of the season is divided into two parts. In the first part of the episode, Addison decides to take a few days off from Seattle Grace and goes to Los Angeles, in order to catch up with her old friends from medical school.

Derek must perform an emergency surgery on Jane Doe, who now prefers to be known as Ava, after bleeding is observed in her brain. Cristina and Burke’s wedding day is getting near and she makes plans for the wedding day with her mother and Burke’s mother. In the second part of the episode, almost all the events from the first part are continued. Finally, its time for the interns to show what they have learnt at the Seattle Grace. All of them take their first year medical exam. On the other hand, the residents turn their attention towards three new cases who have hurt themselves during mountain climbing. Cristina is having a tough time, when she has to write her wedding vows. In the last episode of the season, it’s Cristina and Burke’s wedding day, but they finally decide to call off their wedding, as Burke realizes that Cristina has been changing herself to no extent in order to make him happy. Derek is offered the position of next chief, but he rejects it. On the other hand the interns get the result of their first exam. Callie and George take a big decision about their relationship.
