Katherine Heigl was born in the home of Nancy, a personal manager and Paul Heigl, an accountant and a financial executive. She has a German and Irish lineage. She was raised in Virginia, Denver and then in Connecticut, where her family finally settled in the New Canaan town’s farmhouse.

Katherine lost her older brother Jason, after he met with an accident. After this incidence, her family took a decision to donate his organs.

Katherine started her career as a child model with the help of her aunt. She has posed for the catalogues of Sears and Lord & Taylor. She followed this up with her appearances on television.

She has acted in ‘King of the Hill’ series and her first film role was for ‘That Night’ (1992). In 1994, she appeared in ‘My Father the Hero’. In the next year, she starred in ‘Under Siege 2: Dark Territory’.

Katherine married Josh Kelley on 23 December 2007 and soon after, they went for their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas. They moved into their new home at Los Feliz, California in December 2007. Before her marriage with Josh Kelley, she had dated Joey Lawrence and Jason Behr.
